Installing Toyoya RAV4 alarm system is a useful skill to save money, or just to keep other people away from your car unnecessarily. Here are detailed instructions on how to connect the car alarm system.
Preparing to install the alarm system on the Toyota RAV4 2012-2016. Disassembly of the interior. What you need to do so that the cabin was completely ready for work:
* Unscrew the two screws in the lining, which is located above the pedals and remove it.
* Dismantle the cover of the fuse box.
* Remove the dust cover between the steering column casing and the dashboard cover - it is riveted and easy to remove.
* Remove the cover from the dashboard in the same way.
Remove the steering shaft cover. It is riveted, so it will be a little more difficult. The easiest way is to pry the latches in the left and right ends of the steering column and unclip first the bottom and then the top, slowly moving along the perimeter. Remove the dashboard by unscrewing the two self-tapping screws that hold it in place. Behind it you can locate the central alarm unit. Lead the wires under the hood. You can do this through the OEM seal, which is located just to the left of the pedal assembly. Preparation is complete, now you can move on to the next step.
Installing the alarm system on the Toyota RAV4 2012-2016
It is necessary to connect the mass of the alarm to the car. To do this, you can choose any convenient place and use a nut or regular bolt. Then you need to connect the device to the CAN-bus so that the alarm system receives information about the current state of the car and was able to control it. This connection is made through the diagnostic connector OBDII. You will see two wires, black is CAN-H and white is CAN-L. There should also be two thick wires on the BCM block - blue and white, through them connect the power. Autostart circuits are connected in the ignition switch harness.
Next, you need to connect power to the transponder immobilizer in the way that is specified in the manufacturer's instructions. Place the siren and the engine temperature sensor under the hood. Install the hood pushbutton there, if necessary. Connection points will be slightly different for models made in certain years.
