quietness;
ease of shifting;
and the durability of the transmission.
The lubricant for the Rav 4 automatic transmission is the Genuine ATF WS heirloom or Toyota lubricant with the manufacturer's part number, 08886-02305.
Using a different lubricant can cause:
Vibration;
Difficulty in shifting;
long pauses in automatic gear shifting and therefore jerking;
slipping of the fluid coupling;
burial of solenoids;
failure of the expensive transmission.
